    Is there any reason you use the custom inserts to attach the skirt to the frame instead of simply using a lag bolt? Is it so you can disassemble the table if you want? Do you see any reason I can't use a lag bolt and drive it right through the brace and into the leg?

    No one understands that large panels of wood, such as tabletops, expand and contract with humidity. Especially when the tabletop is flat sawn instead of quarter sawn. Failure is inevitable.

    Amazing Job! I hope to make something very similar. Where did you end up getting your wood? What processing did you do to get the top pieces ready for gluing?
